
Explosive Decompression Resistant FFKM
Explosive decompression, also known as Rapid Gas Decompression (RGD) or Anti-Explosive Decompression (AED), is one of the most critical failure modes in high-pressure sealing systems. When elastomers are exposed to high-pressure gases, those gases can permeate into the material. If pressure is released too quickly, the trapped gas expands rapidly, causing internal blistering, cracking, and catastrophic seal failure.
FFKM (perfluoroelastomer) O-rings, gaskets, custom parts, and tubes are specifically engineered to resist these effects in demanding environments such as oil & gas, chemical processing, and high-pressure gas systems.
