Parker’s Parofluor® FF400-80 is an 80 Shore A black perfluoroelastomer (FFKM) engineered for extreme low-temperature, high-pressure, and rapid gas decompression (RGD) sealing applications in the oil and gas industry. Designed to operate in environments exceeding 25,000 psi, it offers an exceptionally wide service temperature range of -40°F to 527°F, with a best-in-class TR-10 low-temperature performance of -22°F, providing flexibility far below standard FFKM compounds. FF400-80 delivers outstanding resistance to aggressive downhole fluids, elevated hydrogen sulfide (H₂S) concentrations, and high-pressure gaseous environments where rapid decompression can cause conventional elastomers to fail. Its proven RGD resistance has been validated through ISO 23936-2 and TOTAL GS EP PVV 142 testing, making it suitable for the most demanding HPHT applications.

FF400-80 is commonly used in downhole tools, subsea chokes, valves, and other critical oil and gas equipment exposed to extreme pressure, temperature cycling, and sour gas conditions. It provides broad chemical resistance to aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons, chlorinated hydrocarbons, polar solvents, inorganic and organic acids, water and steam, petroleum oils, and wet or dry chlorine, while maintaining minimal weight loss in high-vacuum environments. This Parofluor® formulation offers a reliable solution where low-temperature flexibility, RGD resistance, and chemical durability must coexist. Canyon Components offers equivalent FFKM materials engineered to meet similar low-temperature, RGD, and HPHT performance requirements for oil and gas sealing applications.
