Parker, P0642-70 PU, 70A, Black, Drive Belt Applications, Millable
Parker’s P0642-70 is a 70 Shore A black polyurethane (PU) compound designed for high-wear sealing applications, including O-rings, gaskets, and drive belt components where abrasion resistance and toughness are critical. This millable polyurethane material provides strong resistance to petroleum oils, ozone, silicone oils, and light hydrocarbons such as propane and butane, making it suitable for demanding industrial environments. With a service temperature range of -40°F to 180°F (-40°C to 82°C), P0642-70 maintains elasticity and mechanical strength under repeated flexing and load cycling. Its inherent durability and tear resistance make it well suited for applications requiring longer service life compared to conventional rubber elastomers.
P0642-70 is not recommended for exposure to ketones, esters, ethers, alcohols, glycols, steam, alkalis, amines, or acids, as these media can degrade polyurethane materials. This compound is commonly selected for drive systems, power transmission components, and industrial seals where wear resistance is prioritized over broad chemical compatibility. Canyon Components offers equivalent polyurethane materials that match or exceed the performance of Parker P0642-70 for abrasion-resistant O-rings, gaskets, and mechanical sealing applications.
