Parker Hannifin Neoprene (CR) Elastomers

Parker Hannifin Neoprene elastomer materials are designed for industrial sealing applications requiring balanced resistance to weathering, ozone, refrigerants, moderate oils, and environmental exposure. Neoprene, also known as Chloroprene Rubber or CR, is commonly used in O-rings, gaskets, custom molded rubber parts, diaphragms, valve seals, vibration isolators, and industrial sealing systems operating in moderate temperature environments. These materials are widely specified in refrigeration systems, outdoor equipment, HVAC systems, automotive components, water handling equipment, and general industrial sealing applications.

Canyon Components supplies high quality equivalents to many Parker Neoprene elastomer compounds used throughout industrial sealing systems. Our team supports replacement O-rings, gaskets, diaphragms, and custom molded sealing components manufactured from Neoprene compounds for refrigeration systems, fluid handling systems, and environmental sealing applications. We also provide engineering support for material selection, weather resistance evaluation, and sealing system optimization.

Common names include: Neoprene rubber, Chloroprene rubber, CR elastomer, general purpose industrial elastomer

Features of Parker Hannifin Neoprene Materials

  • Neoprene compounds provide good mechanical properties across a broad range of industrial applications

  • CR elastomers offer strong resistance to refrigerant gases and moderate resistance to oils and lubricants

  • Neoprene compounds provide good resistance to water and moderate environmental exposure

  • Canyon Components supplies equivalent Neoprene sealing materials with strong availability, engineering support, and rapid lead times

Limitations of Parker Hannifin Neoprene Materials

  • Neoprene compounds generally provide lower chemical resistance compared to FKM, FFKM, or specialty elastomers

  • CR materials may have limited compatibility with aromatic hydrocarbons, chlorinated solvents, and aggressive chemicals

  • Neoprene materials may not provide sufficient resistance for aggressive fuel or high pressure gas applications

  • Certain dynamic applications may require compounds with improved abrasion resistance or mechanical strength

  • Not all Neoprene compounds are suitable for continuous steam or aggressive solvent exposure
