Parker Hannifin Fluorosilicone (FVMQ) Elastomers
Parker Hannifin Fluorosilicone elastomer materials are designed for sealing applications requiring excellent fuel resistance combined with outstanding low temperature flexibility. Fluorosilicone, also known as FVMQ, is commonly used in O-rings, gaskets, diaphragms, valve seals, fuel system seals, aerospace seals, and custom molded rubber parts exposed to fuels, oils, solvents, and extreme temperature environments. These materials are widely specified in aerospace systems, aviation fuel systems, automotive fuel systems, military equipment, and industrial sealing applications where standard Silicone materials would not provide sufficient fuel resistance.
Canyon Components supplies high quality equivalents to many Parker Fluorosilicone elastomer compounds used throughout aerospace, automotive, and industrial sealing systems. Our team supports replacement O-rings, gaskets, and custom molded sealing components manufactured from FVMQ compounds for fuel systems, aviation systems, and low temperature sealing applications. We also provide engineering support for fuel compatibility analysis, low temperature sealing performance, and aerospace sealing requirements.
Common names include: Fluorosilicone rubber, FVMQ elastomer, fuel resistant silicone, low temperature fuel resistant rubber
Trade names include: Parker®, Fluorosilicone, FVMQ

Features of Parker Hannifin Fluorosilicone Materials
- These materials are commonly used in O-rings, gaskets, diaphragms, valve seals, and custom molded rubber parts
- FVMQ compounds maintain excellent flexibility at extremely low temperatures compared to many fuel resistant elastomers
- Fluorosilicone materials are widely used in aerospace fuel systems and aviation sealing applications
- These compounds provide strong resistance to aromatic fuels, aviation fuels, and many industrial lubricants
- FVMQ materials combine the low temperature flexibility of Silicone with improved hydrocarbon resistance
- Specialized compounds are available for aerospace, military, and automotive sealing systems
- Canyon Components supplies equivalent Fluorosilicone sealing materials with strong availability, engineering support, and rapid lead times
Limitations of Parker Hannifin Fluorosilicone Materials
- Fluorosilicone compounds generally provide lower tear resistance and abrasion resistance compared to HNBR or FKM materials
- These materials may not be suitable for aggressive dynamic applications involving severe wear or extrusion conditions
- FVMQ compounds typically provide lower tensile strength than many industrial elastomers
- Certain aggressive steam and hot water environments may reduce service life
- Not all FVMQ compounds are suitable for exposure to strong acids, amines, or aggressive chemical processing systems
