Limitations of Parker Hannifin Viton™

  • Parker Hannifin Viton™ O-rings, gaskets, and custom molded parts have poor resistance to hot water and superheated steam


  • Depending on the compound blend, Parker Hannifin Viton™ materials are not recommended for strong amines, ketones, or highly polar solvents unless specialty grades are used


  • Depending on the compound blend, Parker Hannifin Viton™ O-rings, gaskets, and custom molded parts are not compatible with ammonia gas or strong inorganic bases


  • Parker Hannifin Viton™ materials typically have a service temperature range of varies by compound: up to 437°F (225°C)



  • Certain applications may require backup rings or alternative seal geometries at high pressure
